Hispanic Health Coalition of Georgia

For almost 3 years, I developed and the fundraising and communications strategy for the Hispanic Health Coalition of Georgia.  Our team at the time, included an executive director, an office manager, a grant writer and manager and a research intern.  Our accomplishments in 3 years include:

  • Issued the first report in 5 years about the status of Latino health (in collaboration with Emory University Rollins School of Public Health)
  • Launched a successful grass-roots event aiming at raising awareness of pedestrian safety and obesity
  • Improved and increased attendance of annual events  (fundraising and community-based)
  • Were able to hire 5 health promoters
  • Successfully launched health campaign “Salud es Felicidad”
  • Exponentially increased recognition and awareness of non-profit culminating in an invitation to the White House.
