According to the 2013 Charitable Giving Report, more than one-third (33.6%) of overall charitable giving happens in the last three months of the year, with the highest percentage (17.5%) coming in December. However, nonprofits don’t have to rely on just year-end giving. As evidenced by giving days like #GivingTuesday and end-of-fiscal year campaigns in June, there are other ways nonprofits can drive donor behavior by shifting their fundraising strategies. This trend continues to support the belief that nonprofit organizations can diversify their giving across the calendar year with the right amount of focus.
