Gathering Wild Art Fundraiser

I am working with Gathering Wild, a collective of highly skilled dances in Atlanta for their show “27” .

27 is a tribute to the music and inspiration of the “27 Club.”  The show was originally conceived to showcase four of these artists–Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin. Recently, the 27 Club has become even more notorious and relevant with the untimely passing of Amy Winehouse.  Thus, we have reformatted the show to include a small selection of her music.  The show was created as a means to experience the gripping commonalities and distinctions among these young musicians.  Prominent Atlanta choreographers Charles “Bubba” Carr, Corian Ellisor, and Daphanie Scandrick joined forces with Jerylann Warner (Director of Gathering Wild) in approaching these vast musical legacies.  Decatur-based artist, Rachel Jackson is contributing rich visuals to the show and has developed exclusive and unique pieces inspired in the legendary musicians to be auctioned-off and sold during the performance on Jan. 20-21st at Fabrefaction Theater.

My contribution to the project has been to create the main piece of art to represent the project as well as working with Rachel to enhance the ambience of the theater (think feathers!).
